Q. Hi, my mother offered to let me wear her wedding dress in my wedding. The problem is that it's ivory instead of white, because it's from her second marriage. I can justify wearing a white dress and would definitely prefer to, but it would mean a lot to my mom if I would wear hers. Is there a way to have an ivory wedding gown dyed white?
A. If you did try this, you would use a colour remover rather than a dye.
However, I wouldn't try it myself. As with dying, different fabrics react differently to the colouring process. If the dress is not ALL the same fabric, you will end up with different parts of the dress in different versions of ivory or white.
If you have your heart set on this ask at your local dry cleaners who might handle this in your area. I doubt anyone will guarantee results for you.

How do I pick the right colors for my wedding?
Q. I want to get married in June and I am trying to pick colors for the wedding. I love bright colors and want to use them for my wedding. The problem is that all three of my bridesmaids have pale skin and do not look good in brighter colors. What is a good way to use the bright colors that I love with the pale toned girls that I have?
A. I am getting married in June as well (good luck!) and all of my bridesmaids are pale as ghosts despite the fact that we live right next to a beach-- in florida -.-
That being said, bright colors will be okay on them if they have a darker hair to contrast. I took my sister and my best friend to go get fitted and my sister is a brunette and my friend is a blond. My friend looked terrible in the dresses, it simply overpowered her. My sister looked lovely, infact the pale complexion really brought out the color on her face/hair/eyes and not to mention the lovely dress. I ended up settling on something two toned.
We have medium shade of blue that's not exactly pastel, but that isn't too bright of a royal blue. That's what I'd suggest you can also put on a sash if your not opposed of the bright color if the medium shade doesn't match chair covers/napkins and such-- they've got lots of affordable and beautiful gowns for your special ladies, and you can work with anything, you just have to round up your ladies and go shopping (as difficult as it may be to get them all together at once, lol).
Goodluck and many years of happiness to you!!!

How much did you spend on your wedding? Is this considered too much?
Q. My parents are paying for my wedding and they plan to spend at least 350,000 to give me that big, fairytale, wedding. The problem is I want something small, simple, and classy.
A. I spent around $9,000 (not including honeymoon).
350,000 is A LOT. I'm all for people having big weddings if that's their dream and they afford it, but 350,000 is way over the top in my opinion.
If the big fairytale wedding isn't what you want, sit down with your parents and tell them that. Let them know that you really appreciate that they're willing to do that for you, but you'd like something more low key. Hopefully they'll be understanding.

Is it a must to invite the spouse of a co worker to a wedding even when you have never met them?
Q. You work with someone and you see them everyday and wish to invite them to your wedding. Problem is money and space at the wedding. I would perfer not to invite the spouse, but do not wish to be rude.
What if you invited a group of girls from the office, on a posted invitation. Must you include the spouses then?

A. I totally understand the feeling, but I think I read in Dear Abby that you have to; I just checked, Emily Post says the same thing. The idea is a couple is a "set," you can't invite one without the other.
